GOB-Smacked

Not dictionary definition gobsmacked.

Man-of-La-Manchin announced he's stepping away from the Senate to either spend more time selling GOB (Garbage of Bituminous) or to pollute the political climate

Credit where it's due, he helped a watered down version of Biden's domestic agenda pass, though he and his tag-team partner Sinema could always be counted on to be flies in the ointment.

Bye.

The Irrelevants, Live On Stage This Evening

Another one I won't be watching....tonight's event is filler, second-tier soufflè.

Mostly good news on the elections yesterday, though the elite media will come up with some way to make it bad news for Democrats generally/Biden specifically (my favorite--Ohio's strong vote in favor of women's reproductive rights "takes the issue off the table" in next year's Senate election...righhhhhhht).

Anyway, to paraphrase TFG, the gist of the deal...is done.

TFG owns the GOP, which itself is largely evangelical Christian, truly a match made in hell. He's their avatar, their Dear Maximum Leader, whatever..

Can they win next year? Unfortunately, yes.

Can they be stopped? Yes, and let's hope that happens.

Chief Justice Captain Obvious

Credit where it's due

Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. said there was little question that Mr. Rahimi, who has been accused of a string of shootings, posed a threat to public safety.

“You don’t have any doubt that your client is a dangerous person, do you?” the chief justice asked Mr. Rahimi’s lawyer, J. Matthew Wright.

Mr. Wright said he would “want to know what ‘dangerous person’ means.”Chief Justice Roberts supplied a definition. “It means someone who is shooting at people,” he said. “That’s a good start.”

Mr. Wright retreated. “That’s fair,” he said.

Tantrum

A septuagenarian who chooses to present as a spray-tanned, hair-dyed (and woven into whatever that is on the top of his head) toddler acted out/made a scene in open court today.

So of course the NY Times says "belligerent and brash, unrepentant and verbose."

Hell, why phone, text, or tweet it in when you can (presumably) let AI generate the story?

What a fucking rotter.
