Telephone booth edition. Inspired by this, which was a more or less random click today...but also a reminder to me of my advancing years -- I remember when pay phones were everywhere, and at least in The Gret Stet, got you a local call for a nickel.

The last actual booth I remember seeing was in California, of all places, some six years ago. Didn't check, but at a glance it looked functional. But even I've got a cell phone these days.

I think what bothers me the most about this is first, the sheer eagerness to kill...sure, the condemned was a monstrous creep, but why are they so amped up that they couldn't wait a few more days or weeks? Second, the inevitable "well, it wasn't as bad as what he did to his victim." As to the latter, no, it wasn't. But "not-quite-as-bad-as-a-heinous-convicted-murderer"...is a really, really low bar.
