Friday Cat Blogging With Photoshop

From Album 5
I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore edition. As Rick Perry might say -- "Oops."

That said, as awful as Pat Roberts is, the sad reality is that the alternative is...likely worse, if worse can even be quantified on the Rethug side at this point. Sort of a pick your poison...not unlike going from, oh, I don't know, Jindal to Vitter. Yikes. Still...you'd think someone making a Senator's salary would be able to afford more than a convenience address supplied by donors. But I guess I just don't understand how fast $175 thousand dollars goes away these days.

Well, have a good weekend. I will, even though that kind of money isn't even on my radar screen...

From The Wolf Of Wall Street To The Whale of Weehawken?

From Album 5
As a regular viewer of The Rachel Maddow Show, I've been getting plenty of news about the GWB and associated Chris Christie scandals...and, is it just me, or would Jonah Hill be well cast as David Wildstein?

But who would  have the proper, um, weight -- and bombast --  to fill Chris Christies'...shoes? Hmm...John Goodman, perhaps, though he's been looking a bit hang-dog lately. Jack Black? Russell Crowe? Sort of a dark horse, but if Patrick Warburton (and I had to look him up -- I just remembered the guy who played one of Elaine's boyfriends on Seinfeld) but if he let himself get as large as Steven Segal...maybe. He's got the attitude, if not the voice. GĂ©rard Depardieu has the size...but...nah.

And of course you'd need a title. Hmmm...The Bridges of Madison County The Bridge of Bergen County? Well, possibly a working title...

Anyway...presumably tomorrow's post will be a bit more "normal," though thanks for letting me indulge my whim.

First, They Came For The Expensive Champagne...

From Album 5
Taking as a suggestion the comment at the end here, what's next? Adequate financing of public education as objectively Marxist? The slightest suggestion of higher taxes on the wealthy (who, ahem, can and do hire accountants who understand tax code and can advise on ways to reduce exposure) as the mark of the beast?

Sigh.
