At the risk of sounding more than a little cynical, today's school shooting is unlikely to register more than a blip in the news cycle, with one student killed, and five more injured (four students and the principal, at least one critical, but no additional information).
Can't find it now, but earlier I saw/read a report with (I think) a police spokesperson who expressed relief it wasn't worse.
True, though for the family of the student killed, it's obviously as awful as can be.
Oh, and in 2022, the US representative of the district that includes the school called for Iowa to certify itself as a Second Amendment Sanctuary State. Classy.
