Of course, be careful what you ask for, but Diaper Dave can't be real happy with the prospect of Russell Honore as a primary opponent, which none too subtly underscores the fact that Vitter's both a weak candidate and weak Senator...

At best, Mary Landrieu will always be merely the lesser of evils.

To tell the truth, I doubt idiots like Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry really DO want to return to an Amish-like level of existence...but they sure as hell could care less about our level of prosperity.

And their contradictory fealty towards conservative power grabbing goes without saying.

I'm sure you've already seen it, but to add my "yes" vote to Krugman: the political philosophy of St. Ronald has been discredited. Utterly.

Except to the intrepid reporters of our modern media, and zombies like, well, David Vitter (while the Mary Landrieu's of this world continue to pay homage while claiming "lesser of evil" status. Yes, Mary, you truly are a "lesser" evil.)

Sigh.

You know, for all the controversy this will generate--and don't get me wrong, full disclosure, I personally cannot justify on ANY basis the sort of ugliness the torture report documents, but, to set aside moral and legal implications for just a second, isn't it PATENTLY OBVIOUS that this sort of torture regime ugliness has been singularly INEFFECTIVE in "making us safe"?

And it's appalling. And it's your tax dollars at work. Government hacks like Joe Lieberman think spending money on health care is unrealistic at this time...but don't bat an eyelash when money is spent on killing and torturing. Go figure.
