To be fair, everything I've heard or read suggests Robert Mueller is a decent human being, a Vietnam War veteran, a career lawyer/law enforcement officer, whatever...

But Democrats relying on Mueller to save them, or turning to him as a patron, or object of veneration, underscores how pathetic the Dems are as a political organization. Once again, pinning their hopes on a Republican Hero, i.e., starting from a position so subordinate they'll never be anything but GOP-Lite, or even GOP mainstream of barely a decade or two ago.

I'm tired of having to apologize for believing the promotion of basic human decency and civil society is, yeah, a function of the government.
