Not that I think it's a particularly harsh hit, but with TFG being such a mutant candidate, it's not like you can corner him on policy, which he neither knows nor cares about.

Of course, tomorrow TFG will say the exact opposite, then claim it's lies, fake news, or something else. 

The problem trying to interview TFG -- and the MAGAts, generally -- is that the elite media can't or won't adjust to the GOP candidates as some mutant spawn of reality television and performance art. Additionally, the need for fresh content functions as a memory hole of sorts. In a week, the chattering classes will have something new to chatter about. 

But it's not like a victory by these ghouls would just be a plot twist. 

Reality would very much bite.

It's exactly what you'd expect from a reality show participant or scheming rival/relative in a feature drama (not to mention the whole '[he's their] retribution' promise).

It would be, darkly amusing, intriguing, suspenseful, or whatever, if it wasn't, you know, for real stakes.
