Soon to be Seen on a Pristine Coast?
From Album3

OK, I exaggerate a bit -- this is a Photoshop blog, after all -- but again, aside from the cost in human lives, the potential for a major spill to wreck an economy NOT based on energy extraction...like, oh, I don't know, the Redneck Riviera, or Gulf Coast fishing...is no small consideration...

Accidents happen.

  1. Precisely. Yet the risk factors and potential costs are hardly ever factored into the debate.

I ate some gulf coast shrimp tonight, and I don't think I'll be buying any more for a long time.

  2. The spill doesn't look good. As for Gulf Coast shrimp...oh...it's one of my absolute favorite foods, but I've been trying to limit consumption until they come up with some way to ensure a decent living for the trawler operators (and of course trawling generates its own issues...)
