Regards the graphic for today.........old "saint" Ronnie of Raygun. That is when it all started going wrong, when we elected an acting president. He just acted through both terms in office. Bonzo would have done a better job.
I was telling a friend that, just as bad, no one ever really challenged the mythology...not the press, not the Dems (people forget Carter -- and Mondale -- were fairly conservative for Democrats)...the myth became the de facto standard.
And yeah, it has been downhill ever since, at least in my mind...to be sure, some of that is myself, going from youth to adulthood to middle age...but I think as much IS actual observation...
Michael, I agree on the actual observations of yours. I have seen the same, and I will hit 66 later this year. There is a huge myth about "saint" Ronnie, and like many myths, it is totally illusion, smoke and mirrors. Of course, one needs to remember, I was a US Marine for four years of honorable service and I did a tour in Vietnam, so I might be a bit prejudiced. LOL, yeah, just a bit.......
