Are You Suggesting We Throw Money At It?

Hell. Fucking. Yes. Duh. No, it's not a panacea, and sure, a thousand dollars might not amount to much...for anyone who has more than a thousand dollars.

A lot of people don't.

Goddamnit, it's just a good and even decent idea to provide immediate relief to people who saw their income drop to zero over the last week and a half.

It's good politics. And bullshit on any ethical dilemmas.

Do you think opposing immediate relief will keep wingers from the usual smears? Of course not. Because it's never been the money, it's always been who it allegedly goes to.

So stop with the nonsensical fiscal probity, go for as much as possible. What will people spend it on? Gee, I dunno, food. Clothing. Credit card debt.

Medical bills for anyone unfortunate enough to get ill (do you think insurance is going to cover all the costs?).

For decades, wages have languished. That's why paltry tax relief actually has some traction. Yeah, paltry, but when you've got nothing, paltry is a start.

And don't let DJT get out in front on this one. Yeah, it'll be like he's trying to buy the election. Goddamn, he will if he can...but you won't do yourself any favors playing Scrooge.
