First, They Came For The Expensive Champagne...

From Album 5
Taking as a suggestion the comment at the end here, what's next? Adequate financing of public education as objectively Marxist? The slightest suggestion of higher taxes on the wealthy (who, ahem, can and do hire accountants who understand tax code and can advise on ways to reduce exposure) as the mark of the beast?

Sigh.

  1. According to the "Oxford English Language Dictionary" (I may have the word order not as exact as the book cover has it) says that the Semites include Arabs and Hebrews. Therefore, an anti-Semite would not just despise Jews, but Arabs as well. The whole "idea" (is it really an idea? or is it, as I think, a blatant attempt by the zionists to capture a term for their own use?) is absurd.
As to being called an anti-Semite by a zionist or xtian-zionist, well, I wear that as a badge of honor. Screw that crapola of "anti-Semites" being vile people. YES, a true anti-Semite would be a nasty, vile critter, but the way the term is used by the zionists and their xtian-zionist pals is sick and I do not give a flying crap, or any other sort of crap about what they call me. I am a humanist/atheist and damn proud of it. I also served with honor as a US Marine. How many of the zionists/xtian-zionists in the US of A have even worn a US military uniform? Not very many is how many. Most are cowards in my opinion. Also, the supposed slander of being called an anti-Semite by any zionist has lost its sting, if it ever really had one. As the term gets abused more and more, it will continue to be less of a threat and become more irrelevant as it should be.
I despise racism of ALL types and will fight against it till my last breath. What the zionists/xtian-zionists are doing with the abuse of the term IS racist in my opinion and they can all go screw themselves. And yes, Michael, I am trying very hard to stay with polite language here. I could use my old "Marine language" but this is your blog and I'll try to stay civil and polite with my words. Even against such crap as the misuse of terms/words. Oh, the misuse of words is another of my "pet peeves" and I also despise that. Yes, the English language does change with time, no problem with natural changes or even meanings of words. The abuse of words/terms IS something we need to guard against. Also the misuse of "anti-Semite". How silly they are. I will not be afraid of them.
Sorry to rant on so long, but this post hit a nerve and I am not feeling that great today any way.
Stay warm. At least it looks like we will not get any more snow/ice for a while.

  2. Oh, the whole equating ANY criticism of, well, I was going to say Israel, but now Israel AND the economic elite (and really the elite of the elite) with anti-Semitism really underscores the absurdity of their argument...and even plays into some ugly stereotypes that, no, those of us who don't defend elitism aren't making. Jeez -- no pun intended -- but amazing how even IN Israel there's a diversity of opinion that would be a huge leap forward in political thinking here in the USofA...but that will never happen thanks to a political equivalent of hall monitoring that would make the old Soviet Union look like a model of free debate.

But...hopefully enough people are realizing that a reasonable suggestion of...taxing the ultra rich who are hoarding as opposed to investing cash ISN'T the equivalent of Hitler. Or, as Jonathon Chait said the other day, Godwin Help Us...

Otherwise...yes, I vaguely remember Burlington...to be honest, I doubt I ever went there, unless it was passing through the greater Milwaukee area on my way to or from Chicago...my time was spent in the People's Republic of Madison for the most part. Oh, I managed to travel around a bit, but that was a long time ago (moved back here in 1999)...I enjoyed the summer...but man, winter...yikes...
