Amazing, isn't it, that again, the very people who've brought about the Mother of All Economic Melt-Downs continue to assume a sense of entitlement for themselves while insisting on more of the same economic epic fail policies that caused the mess...and which, incidentally, would be a disaster for most of us.
Again, they just don't get it--the 'free market' train has long left the station, if it was ever even parked there in the first place. And I've got a hunch that if you really examine the positions of the rabid anti-government so-called free marketeers, you'd find that underneath their blind faith in all-market-all-the-time-and-only-market is...blind faith. Nothing. Nada, zero, zilch.
And no amount of reality--the reality of 50 million Americans with no health insurance, the reality of a crumbling infrastructure that's not been maintained in a generation, the reality of a failed system that originally promised 'private sector efficiency' but has morphed/deformed into 'why should citizens expect government to provide services at all?'--will dissuade them from adherence to a failure of both ideology and its practical application.
And so when Mitch McConnell or Johns Boehner and McCain or Grover 'should be drowned in a toilet full of his own excrement' Norquist whine, bitch and moan, the proper response should be derisive ridicule, at the very least. After all, they thought this horror was a good investment of tax payer dollars:
Iraq's Shocking Human Toll: About 1 Million Killed, 4.5 Million Displaced, 1-2 Million Widows, 5 Million Orphans
All for the low cost of just over a half trillion dollars...so far.
