Following up from yesterday's post. Tigger neither smokes nor drinks (in fact, he wrinkles his nose and slinks away from my wine or beer) but doesn't have a problem with responsible adults making their own decisions.
And he thinks David Brooks is a tool. Bonus is
this "response" to Bobo's ridiculous column.
Have a good weekend.
Well, if you want to hold onto sanity in any form, why read Brooks? Oh, and who really cares what he says? The NYT may claim to be the "paper of record" but that was in the past. Does anybody seriously read that excuse of a newspaper and actually think they are getting anything even remotely close to the truth? I sure don't, but then, who the hell am I. LOL. Good for Colorado.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you're right about Bobo...but he and the rest of his like -- including Obama -- seem blind to lives that have really been screwed with by ugly, mean-spirited laws...laws that very obviously aren't equally applied, and laws that are ultimately counterproductive...well, unless you like hurting some people and empowering criminal elements.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I really hope this is a first step towards sanity...if adults want to smoke, it's their business, just the same if they want to drink...or smoke tobacco. I don't object to laws restricting consumption (just like drunk driving laws), I don't object to regulation (which might actually REDUCE consumption). The drug war, just like prohibition, was/is a mix of naive reformists and ugly authoritarianism. Time to get rid of it...
