Country Mouse, City Mouse Mooch

From Album 5
They're not even trying to hide it anymore:

I'm not sure why this isn't a bigger deal. I hadn't heard about it other than in this brief passage tucked away in a Politico article about the House GOP agriculture bill. But it takes a small program intended provide meals to children in the school lunch program during the summer months and says it can now only be used to benefit kids in "rural areas".

Gee...does this mean the "moderate" wingers would restore school lunches to urban kids...provided they did sufficient custodial/janitorial work in exchange?

  1. I suppose those "moderates" you mentioned would be just fine with letting the urban kids dig for their food from all the dumpsters around town. Yeah, beats feeding them at tax payer expense. All that "saved" money can be better used by giving it to the "too big to jail" gangsters, like Wally Street and the international banksters/multinational corporations. Hey, I bet there is plenty of food for those urban kids in the dumpsters back of Waly-Mart, McBurgers, etc. Yeah, that will do just fine.
Your idea of having the little buggers work may be OK sort of, but teaching them to dumpster dive, well, that could be considered as educational. See? It works out so sweet for the vile penny pinchers in "our" congress. The urban kids, not so well, but hey, they're kids, they're flexible. They'll need that "training" for later, when they no longer attend school and have no job skills. The wingers could even say it is a form of recycling. I would NOT put that past them.
My comment was intended as against said wingers, but, oh nuts, they might actually try to implement it. If they do, it was NOT my idea, I refuse to claim it.
