I agree with you. They want to keep people from using anything that will be helpful unless it adds to the obscene profits of the very rich. I say, make it legal, but you can still get a ticket for driving under the influence. Heck, you can be cited for driving under the influence of prescription meds right now, so why the big deal over marijuana? Oh, right, because people who smoke it do not go out and pick fights. Yeah, more pot smokers means fewer signing up to be cannon fodder for the next damn fool, useless war of choice.
Absolutely. Between that, and in my mind a general desire to be assholes, a lot of lives get badly ruined, and that has an ugly tendency to feed on itself/snowball. It wouldn't surprise me if some folks want to maintain prohibition in part BECAUSE they've invested so much into ruining other people's lives.
